Who are our members?

RPEC members are a diverse group of people, ranging from community leaders to ordinary citizens. We are teachers, students, lawyers, clergy, business people, computer programmers, homemakers, social workers, nurses, doctors, conscientious objectors, ex-Marines, gardeners, carpenters, and more.

We come from a variety of religious and philosophical traditions, and a wide range of ages and ethnic backgrounds. About 80 percent of our financial support is provided by donations from our membership. Most of the remainder comes from local religious organizations.

What binds us together is our commitment to working strategically and nonviolently to make our community and our world more peaceful places in which to live.

What are the benefits of becoming a member?

What is expected of members?

Members are expected to make a financial contribution to the Richmond Peace Education Center . We do not ask for any specific amount. We only request that members give an amount that is comfortable for their budgets, whether that is $5 or $5000.

Although it is not required, RPEC does encourage its members to volunteer. Through volunteering, we build a stronger community and increase our achievements. We rely heavily on volunteers to pursue our mission.
