After Dinner Conversations About Peace and Justice

Our third After Dinner Conversation will feature Adeeb Abed and Nancy Wein on their personal journeys as advocates for justice for Palestine.

Adeeb Abed (above)

Adeeb was born in Bir Nabala, Palestine, northwest of Jerusalem. He migrated to the US in 1967 at the age of 14. As a student he was a member of the Organization of Arab Students and the General Union of Palestinian Students. He is a member of the Palestinian Aid Society, the East Coast Regional Director of the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee, a founder of the Arab American Association of Central Virginia, and an early member of Richmonders for Peace in Israel-Palestine. Adeeb is currently a steering committee member of Richmonders for Peace in Israel-Palestine.

Nancy Litvin Wein is a longtime member of the Richmond Jewish Community and one of the co-founders of Richmonders for Peace in Israel-Palestine. She has been very active in Richmond in recent years advocating for peace and organizing educational events on the human rights injustices in Palestine. During her high school years, she was selected as a regional delegate to participate in the annual United Synagogue Youth (USY) pilgrimage to Israel and she also served as president of her local chapter.
