Peace Center Featured at First Unitarian Universalist Church
Five different board members of the Peace Center shared 3 minute vignettes about our work at Sunday services of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond throughout September as part of the church’s Share the Plate effort.
Share the Plate invites members of the church to make additional gifts toward the work of a specific community organization. The Peace Center is honored to have been the designated organization in September.
Representing the Peace Center were the following board members: Nichole McVeigh, Raidah Hudson, Grant Rissler, Andrew Town, and Darian Wyatt.
In her sharing on September 8, Raidah Hudson shared that “Peace Center programs have planted countless seeds of positive change, and its gatherings knit together people from all backgrounds who shared peace values. The road to peace has never been smooth. It's always required individuals who believe in the core values of peace, nonviolence and social justice to lean in, and to give, and to build a community of peace, together. Today, the Peace Center has been infused with new board members in leadership to plan and implement the next phase of the Peace Center's work to build a more peaceful just community.”
