The Return of the Richmond Peace Festival

In the wake of the terrible attacks on 9/11, the Muslim community in Richmond came together to hold a candle light vigil, and they were pleasantly surprised to see the Bon Air United Methodist Church join them. Over time, the two groups continued to communicate and eventual collaborated to bring about the first Richmond Peace Festival in 2004 with the help of the Interfaith Community of Greater Richmond and support from the Richmond Peace Education Center. This celebration of mutual respect and collaboration continued until 2017, and we are excited that we were able to bring it back this year! We are thankful to all the volunteers and organizations that joined us for a day celebration and community connection despite the reports of sever weather, which turned out to be inaccurate in the end. We are looking forward to bringing back this annual tradition and invite all those who are interested in being a part of the Richmond Peace Festival in 2024 to contact us right away!
